The figure gets its importance from the composition which is essentially shapes and colours arranged in a configuration that is determined by the hidden geometry of the Greeks' Golden Section. There are countless possibilities of creating artistic feeling by combining the universal beauty of figurative art with the harmonious relationships of non-objective form. The background conglomeration of forms should breathe with a life of their own; but they also should be a part of the picture with patterns enhancing the central figure and in the process create a remote ambiguity that draws the spectator into the picture plane without use of traditional perspective.
