A preacher once explained to me why women must wear hats in church. He quoted First Corinthians 11 verse 10. "For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels." He said if the angels saw the beauty of a woman's long hair they would be enticed to come down from heaven and have their way with her. When you look at the painting and lose yourself in her beauty be careful for if you feel a tap on your shoulder it may be an angel.
